You may not consider yourself to be an eco-warrior but think about all the reasons why you love France and maybe you’ll discover you’re quite green after all. Being our closest neighbour, you don’t need to take a long-haul flight to reach France’s shores and, while you are there, I bet you enjoy fresh, locally produced food and wine. All of which equals less air miles all round.

From lakes and mountains to beaches and open spaces, France is a haven of natural beauty so it is right that we, who enjoy this country so much, should endeavour to care for it. In this issue we take a look at environmentally responsible ways to enjoy France; this includes choosing green options around the home, taking low-impact holidays and making sure the food on your French table is as fresh and natural as possible.

It’s surprising how even small gestures can make a big difference, whether it’s shopping at the local market or installing a water butt at your French property.
