Tom and Patricia Sutcliffe, both retired, have lived in Northern France since 1990.  The couple recently used foreign exchange specialist, Currencies Direct, to transfer money from their UK to their French bank account in order to cover renovation costs on their property and also for private pension transfers. They first heard of Currencies Direct through a friend.

“He mentioned Currencies Direct, but I had never heard of them before, so I looked them up, and lo and behold there they were,” Mr Sutcliffe said.  He gave them a call and received the relevant paper work regarding money and pension transfers.  “I filled out the forms and signed up,” said Mr Sutcliffe.  Now what started off as a 17th century humble abode has ended up becoming a stunning and unique 6-bedroom house with heated outdoors swimming pool. 

 “Our first renovation transfer was £5000 which only took five or six days to come through, and our pensions are automatically paid overseas upon request. The exchange rates we received meant it was certainly advantageous to go through Currencies Direct.” The couple also commented on how easy it was to call Currencies Direct and be put through to the representative of their account straight away. “The rate quotation and subsequent direct debit arrangements made for an efficient transfer system all round,” Mr Sutcliffe said.  This also meant that the couple’s stress levels were kept to a minimum as no difficulties were encountered in meeting payments for the renovation.

Mr and Mrs Sutcliffe have completed their renovation and are now moving on to a different part of France.  They have both commented on how pleased and pleasantly surprised they have been with Currencies Direct’s service.  “Once we set up our individual customer identity no further contact was made, to bombard us with details of other services Currencies Direct provided. Rare indeed these days.”
